This week we had created an ad specifically tailored to the media it was going in to.  One of our best clients, Eve Events is going to have full-page spot in Golf Journal magazine.

Our strategy was to build creative that delivered a message through content and design that spoke directly to the reader of Golf Journal. Strategy + Creative.

Interior Design Influencing a Brand Design

TOPIC CATAGORIES: Branding, Interior Design, Packaging, Print Design, Signage, Strategy

Branding. What influences a brand design? In this particular case, the interior design influenced the brand design. Meet Eve Events. Eve Events is an event planning company that specializes in high-end, distinct, unique, custom events from corporations to destination weddings.

The catalyst element for the brand design based off of the interior was the white birch flooring and white birch furniture.  Before we actually designed the foyer space as seen above the brand design was created.  When we talk about ‘brand design’ we’re talking about creating the identity components for Branding.  Some of the standard brand design components are (but not limited to) naming, tag-lines, logo-symbols, logo-types, colors, and graphic assimilations (supporting graphic elements).  In this example, using the Eve Events brand we’re going to show you how the interior design influenced Eve Events’ following brand components: 1) Naming 2) Logo-Symbol 3) Logo Type 4) Colors 5) Assimilation’s (Supporting Graphic Elements).

You’ll see how the “idea” sparked from the interior was only a sketch rendering before we actually executed both the brand design and the interior design of Eve Events.  Based off this rendering the brand design was born.  Above you’ll see the Eve Events wood-sleeve + metal business cards.  There is an entire collateral system (which consists of about 12 pieces) created – all that can be viewed in our portfolio.  However, we chose this specific collateral piece because it captures most of the essence of the brand design influenced by the interior design vision.

A quick overview of these cards will show you the different brand design components that include: 1) logo-symbol created - “The E”, 2) the name – “Eve-nts” (Eve Events) 3) The Colors - Spot colors: “Red”, “Tan”, “Silver” (Silver foil), and “Brown”, and 4) the Assimilation’s – (Materials) White birch, brushed aluminum.

After the brand design had been completed and the print collateral produced we executed our original vision for the entry way of Eve Events based off of the sketch rendering.  The goal of this vision tied directly into the shape of the symbol, along with the business card. The core-similarity that tie the brand design together with the interior is the white birch flooring where both the business card and custom made wood/aluminum sign both use white birch for their main material. Beyond the materials, I think you can see the resemblance’s between the card and the sign.

In closing: Creating a brand design is influenced by many different factors. In the case of Eve Events, the interior was completed first (everything except the foyer/entry-way design, which we produced after the brand design was completed) which influenced the brand design across the board.  Everything from the logo, to the type, to the colors, to even the materials used for their print collateral systems. In a perfect world having the brand design established before building out the interior design of a business environment (offices, restaurants, trade-show, etc.) makes communication for the interior more in-synch or cohesive with the brand messaging. The big picture for this project and branding in general is to establish an identity where your brand design components work to communicate, creating recognition and ultimately brand loyalty.  Brand loyalty = Business Growth.

Minnesota Timberwolves Large-Format Letterpress Design

TOPIC CATAGORIES: Advertising, Letterpress Print, Print Design, Strategy

The Minnesota Timberwolves were looking for a unique print design for an custom designed, oversized envelope.  The envelope would hold a beautifully designed (not by us) poster to be mailed to box-seat, season ticket holders.   The goal was to design a piece that would compliment the poster in both design and color along with grabbing the receivers’ attention when these were dropped off at the door. The piece was created for letterpress print in four colors.

New Web Site Designed & Developed – www.Rainmakers-mn.com

TOPIC CATAGORIES: Branding, New Web Sites, Web/Digital

One of our latest creations has been a custom design and developed web site for the www.Rainmakers-mn.com. The site uses a Word Press CMS (Content Management System) frame work.  We’ve also integrated a login link to the companies intranet source which uses a 3rd party application called Basecamp.RainmakersWe’ve used a lot of great action script (non-Flash) that not only adds user interactivity but also allows for more content to be displayed and communicated in a more compact area.

Have a great day!

What’s in a Symbol? {Ours}

TOPIC CATAGORIES: About Us, Branding

We get a lot of people asking “What’s with your Butterfly logo?”.  Well, to make things easy here’s the explanation for how the symbol is relevant to our business model and better yet, our slogan: “Your Voice, Our Echo”.

As you may have noticed our symbol is based off of the color pattern silhouette within the monarch butterfly.  The symbolism behind our logo is tied in directly with our slogan: “Your Voice, Our Echo”.  The “Your Voice” represents a client bringing their brand(s) to Echo to be marketed.  The “Our Echo” represents the results of our campaign for your brand(s).  Symbolically these tie into the logo by the Black layer of the Monarch being the “Your Voice” and the color layer being the “Our Echo”.  Our logo represents the Color we add to your brand(s) – the Echo.
